Transforming Anna: A comprehensive look at the city's roadway improvements
The City of Anna is in the midst of a significant transformation with multiple roadway projects designed to enhance safety, improve connectivity, and prepare for future growth. Supported by a combination of city funds, county bond funds, developer contributions, and state grants, these projects reflect Anna's commitment to modernizing its infrastructure. Read more for an in-depth look at the ongoing developments, the recently completed Pavement Condition Index (PCI) assessment and what they mean for the future of Anna.
Bulky item waste pick up
Our next Bulky Item pick up week is scheduled for July 15-19. Wondering what is accepted? Bulky items are those large household items that just won't fit in your regular trash container with the lid closed. Think old furniture, broken appliances, or anything too big for the bin. View our guidelines online

One quick tip to save water on irrigation
One of the easiest ways to be smart about irrigation is to ensure your sprinkler heads are watering the lawn, not the concrete. Watch this video for some tips from NTMWD Public Education Manager, Kathy Fonville.
  • No special tools are needed to realign your sprinkler heads.
  • Use a garden glove or cloth rag pliers can damage the stem of the spray head.
  • Check your system monthly for misaligned or damaged sprinkler heads.

K-9 Miki receives a gift
Yesterday, we had the honor of receiving a generous donation from the Hurricane Creek Rotary Club to purchase a K-9 vest for our K-9, Miki. This donation is a testament to the incredible support and dedication our community shows to our department. K-9 Miki, along with our entire team, is grateful for this act of kindness that enhances our safety and effectiveness.

Anna Community Library Update
This week, the Anna Community Library project has gone vertical with the installation of steel beams, marking a significant milestone in our journey toward the library! Over the next week, the construction team will focus on finalizing the installation of the steel framework. This step provides the skeleton for our library, ensuring structural integrity and setting the stage for the next phases. After inspections, we’ll move onto roof installation.

By the end of August, we expect to have the truss installation and roof decking complete. Within a short time frame, you’ll see rapid progress on our library. Stay on the lookout for another update toward the end of August.

Service and leadership symposium

On July 12, community members gathered for the Service and Leadership Symposium, exploring volunteer opportunities in Anna. Keynote speaker Corina Sadler and local leaders Rolanda Macharia and Michael Garrett shared insights on leadership and community impact.

The symposium concluded with a service project at Grace Place Food Pantry, where participants put their newfound knowledge into action. It was a fantastic day of learning, sharing and serving our community. Thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to making a difference.
